The parish dedicated to the Nativity of our Blessed Lord was established in the autumn of 1920 by the Most Reverend John J. Cantwell, Bishop of Monterey and Los Angeles. Father Edward J. Riordan was appointed pastor, and Holy Mass was celebrated for the first time on the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe, December 12, 1920, in the residence of one of the parishioners. Within a few months property was purchased on the corner of 57th Street and Vermont Avenue, and construction was started on the new church building. Within the first two years Nativity Parish witnessed a large increase in the number of parishioners. In order to provide for the full development of the parish, additional land was purchased and a parish school was opened in 1925. In 1950 Father Thomas Moran obtain ground for a convent. Father David Herrera was pastor from 1985 to 1996 during the time of the Los Angeles riots and the Northridge earthquake and started Spanish language liturgies in the parish. In 1997 Monsignor Timothy Dyer was named pastor, and the parish was clustered with Saint Columbkille in Team Ministry. Repairs to the church and remodeling was completed in march 2002. Fr. Ever Quintero was appointed administrator in the 2013.
Fr. Ever M. Quintero was born on January 30, 1975 in Queniquea Táchira Venezuela. He was ordain priest October 07, 2000 in Our Lady of Rosary Parish in Venezuela. He serve as a priest in Venezuela from 2000 - 2005, from 2005 to 2010 in Rome and from 2010 to the present here in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Fr. Ever Quintero was appointed Administrator of Nativity and St. Columbkille Parish in 2013.
